LiftEx Gold Coast is enthusiastically received
The successful LiftEx Gold Coast featured a combination of a bustling exhibition area and a packed conference at The Star Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia in September. The enthusiastically received event brought together leading lifting and height safety equipment suppliers with end-users who are engaged in operating, inspecting and testing lifting equipment in manufacturing and other key sectors. The exhibition area, featuring products of all types, was well populated during both days.
Justin Boehm, LEEA’s Regional Manager – Australia & New Zealand, welcomed conference attendees to the packed speaker programme featuring discussions on a wide range of crucial lifting related topics. These included the thorough examination of crane ropes and MRT as an aid to inspection, equipment application and rescue planning in working at height and rescue, a look at sling calculations with an explanation of mode factor calculations and types of ton / tonne and sling angles, the critical difference between slinging vs lashing, the importance of pre-use checking equipment and practical inspections and role of an Appointed Person and the importance of planning a safe lift.
Teagan Dowler spoke to attendees about women in manufacturing — leading a diversity, equity and inclusion masterclass. Teagan is a strategy and leadership coach, with experience across a range of industries, including construction, mining and engineering. She delivered the Women in Manufacturing Diversity, Equity & inclusion Toolkit, which is a guide to reimagine the workforce, rethink recruitment practices and programmes and give greater value to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
